AMP Founder, Director of Athletic Performance

TJ Lopez is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist who founded Athletic Movement Protocol in 2013.  Coach TJ founded AMP with the goal of uniting the advanced and cutting edge training and support strategies used at the highest level of sport with the everyday athlete whether they have the goal of competing at the highest level or if they're looking to improve their overall health and well-being.  He believes that no matter what walk of life you're from, training like an athlete will improve every aspect of your life.

Coach TJ has trained countless high school and collegiate athletes throughout his career, as well as a number of professional athletes in a variety of sports.  Coach TJ has been the personal performance coach to pro baseball player CC Sabathia since 2010.  Lopez has worked with many other notable pro athletes such as baseball players Dellin Betances and Justin Dunn, as well as Pro mixed martial artists, Wayne Barrett and Lyman Good.  Coach Lopez is highly dedicated to educating athletes and individuals on proper training techniques to improve their performance on and off the field. 

Coach TJ possesses unrivaled knowledge of Nutrition and human physiology, and is able to teach and convey complex concepts so that they are easily understood by all of our athletes.  No matter what your goal, Coach Lopez can help design truly integrative programming that will allow you to reach and surpass them.  Coach Lopez's incredible attention to detail and program design gives AMP clients no other choice but to excel in life and sport.  

TJ is a Marist College graduate with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sports Medicine, Health and Biology and was a member of the Red Fox Football team.

Sports Performance Coach

Coach Kyle Andersen graduated from SUNY Cortland with a bachelors degree in Fitness Development.  Coach Kyle brings a wealth of passion and knowledge in a variety of sports and disciplines.  Coach Kyle specializes in Speed and Agility training, and with a careful eye and attention to detail, can identify faulty movement that can decrease force output.  He utilizes intelligent and innovative methods to teach and correct sprinting mechanics, improving any athletes top end speed as well as change of direction and agility.  He is one of only a small number of coaches to carry the Certified Speed and Agility Credential by Athletes Acceleration.   Coach Kyle played collegiate baseball for Cortland's SUNYAC championship team in 2011, and brings that team experience and competitive spirit to the AMP Performance Center.

Sports Performance Coach

Coach Rob graduated from Queens College with a Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science.  He was also a catcher for their baseball team.  Rob brings his experience as a collegiate athlete to the AMP Training Center every day.  Proficient in multiple training disciplines, including, Powerlifting and Olympic Lifting, Coach Rob has a quiet demeanor, but is detail oriented, making sure that all athletes are performing their programs safely and efficiently.
